The Summer of My Love Song

Around the leaves silently swing
starburst of signing caresses
float in the past

And in the early sky, birds fly by

It is the summer of my love
but I’ve been away so long
I call to all the burning flowers,
a spittle of dying life,
keepers of crying colors I
hear them shout back, oh

I fear I’ve been just a shadow under
the sun,
a beat always lingering
in the white space between us, love

I felt those silent embers
pushed by the returning wind,
they clean my mind
As I go to the edge and I hear
the beginning
of your love again, oh

And in the late sky, birds lie

It is the empty sky that tells me
stark cold will soon arrive, shrouding me
below with black deafness
If your voice comes soon, ooh
Oh, and save me from this fire once more
